Held every second Tuesday of the month, except January and April.

Doors are open from 7pm. Formal proceedings and presentations commence 8pm sharp.

What does Membership get you?

New Zealand Deerstalkers membership comes with a number of benefits. By applying you join both the Wellington Branch and NZDA Association Inc. As a member you are entitled to many benefits:

Membership card (with 10%-15% discounts at most retailers, see National Website for full terms)
Information about hunting issues, via notices and emails
Personal liability insurance up to $10 million cover, including $1 million rural fires extension, when out hunting
NZDA employees advocating to protect your hunting interests
Hunting & Wildlife magazine (digital copy)
Affiliation with COLFO (Council of Licenced Firearm Owners) the firearm advocates for firearm rights
Branch competitions - Held September
Access to National competitions - trophy heads and photography - Held July
Subsidised 'club hunts' or 'organised hunts'
HUNTs training courses (hunting skills)

Membership Details

Membership is available for anyone aged 14 or over.

Membership Types:

Senior – any member aged 18 years or older at the beginning of the financial year
- Full benefits at national and branch level
- Hunting and Wildlife magazine
- Branch newsletter
- Eligible to enter national and branch competitions
- Eligible to join committees
- includes liability insurance
Junior – As per above. Must be under 18 years of age as at 1 March. Full benefits apart from voting rights
Family – You can also add your family members to your membership for $5.00 per family member.
- Must be attached to 'primary' member, i.e. senior member
- Children must be under 18 years of age at the beginning of the financial year
- Each family members receives a personal membership card
- Includes hunting liability insurance

Superannuant – a senior member entitled to National Superannuation.
Student – 18 years or older full time tertiary student. Must carry Student Identity Card valid for the whole year
Associate – Not available at Wellington Branch

Associate members are able to participate in North Auckland Branch competitions, however they cannot enter National competitions. Associate members are also not covered by the NZDA liability insurance, do not receive the NZ Hunting & Wildlife magazine, and cannot sit on Branch or National committees.

Affiliate (friend of branch) - If you are a full member of another NZDA branch, you can apply for affiliate membership. Affiliate members have all rights as for Senior or Superannuant members, including access to facilities and branch events. Affiliate members DO NOT pay capitation to the national association - they have already done so at their "home" branch.
